Kolber from Pennsylvania earned a doctoral degree from University of Miami. Kolber started her career working in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She took home an Sports Emmy while working at WTVJ-TV, Miami. She worked at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. She was hired by ESPN in 1993, and was one of the first anchors on ESPN2 that was launched. In the following three years, she quit ESPN2 for Fox Sports.
